I wanted to lose weight and body fat. I thought Carbon was just a typical calorie counter, but I discovered a whole new world! It sparked a passion for nutrition within me and empowered me to achieve better results and develop a healthy relationship with food.
I was the classic case of someone who followed a strict, rigid diet from Monday to Friday and then completely abandoned it on the weekends. I was unaware that I was sabotaging all the progress I had made during the week. I constantly wondered why I wasn't losing weight and even made poor decisions like implementing very aggressive calorie deficits that affected my mood. I thought rapid weight loss was a good thing, but in reality, I was starving myself.
Everything. I had spent years incorrectly using another well-known platform (MFP), which didn't teach me the importance of accountability or adjust my calories when I gained weight or lost it too quickly. It didn't allow me to set my own weekly weight loss rate, among many other benefits that Carbon offers. I found much more in Carbon than I initially expected, and it opened my eyes.
The first few times I achieved my weekly compliance and saw excellent results were significant. But the most important thing was when I DIDN'T achieve weekly compliance, and nothing bad happened. I could start a new week with a clean slate. If I had a bad week, I could do better the following week. Again, it taught me that "dieting" doesn't have to be torture. Today, I don't "diet"; it's my lifestyle. I'm healthier, stronger, and more aware of everything I consume and the consequences of my choices. If I eat something I shouldn't, it's not a big deal. I log it in the app and then see how I can adjust other days. I simply have a clean sheet on check-in day.
Carbon is part of my life, my daily routine. I've been using it since 2021. It's my "food conscience" and vital for achieving my nutritional and physical goals in terms of weight, fat, and more.
